I've been such a naughty blogger. But I have reasons! I've been pretty sick the last few weeks, one of those colds that don't go away, (I didn't even go to my knitting night because I was always so frickin' tired!), so I had to go back in the hospital, where I am right now. I feel loads better, and should be home at the very least by my birthday on Saturday :) Happy birthday! We're releasing you from the hospital! Good gift if you ask me.
I've been knitting a bit on the Honeymoon Cami, but the gift knitting I have to do always draws me away. I'm working on a Harry Potter book scarf for my sister, who turns 34 an exact week after my birthday. I'm almost finished the body of the Dan and Katie wedding afghan, only 19 more rows to go, and then I'll be in border hell. I hate picking up stitches, even in crochet, because I feel like I'm messing up all the time- always fear there will be a bunch of stitches in one spot, and won't have enough to fill the quota at the end. Blah.
I have some pictures, but haven't been emptying my camera as often, considering I'm still "testing" it. Andy got me a brand new Mintolta digital camera as my birthday gift. It's really a fabulous little camera, instead of a great honkin' big one, which my last one was. He gave it to me early, because we were supposed to be away this weekend at the New York State Fair and a Renaissance fair, but since I probably won't get out until Saturday, that ain't happening. We've been considering going next weekend, but we might just stay home and spend time together, after these last hectic few weeks (hectic for him, because work is difficult right now, hectic for me, because I feel like I'm at "work" 24/7 just being in the hospital).
I'm buying some Zephyr lace weight yarn, to make Fiddlesticks Knitting's Creatures of the Reef shawl for my mom for Christmas. I can't wait to start this project. It looks like a fun knit. I'm buying some Peace Fleece too, soon, to make Rogue at some point this year. Wondering what color to get, I saw a fantastic Rogue in a discontinued color, Snowmaiden. I almost am tempted to put it on my ebay favorites search list, just in case some misguided soul wants to sell it to me.
In other news, almost finished Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince (I did this dragging out on purpose, but my god, it's hard to do. I just want to sit and FINISH in one sitting, rather than a chapter a meal like I've been doing while I'm in here). Love, love, love it. I'm so entertained. Every night for the dinners I eat by myself, I go downstairs to the cafeteria, get dinner, then sit and let the world disappear, while I read about Harry and Ginny and Ron and Hermione and Dumbledore and Snape. Love love love.
Been upset, because although safely TiVo'd at home, I've missed the last two episodes of Six Feet Under. ARRRRRRGH. I want to KNOW WHAT HAPPENS. Oh well. It'll be another birthday gift to me :)
Pictures later!
