Whereas before, I was depressed thinking about my lack of finishing, but now I feel like I've gotten my second wind. The closeness to finishing on some, with the promise of new projects, or even more FINISHED projects, soon to come, are driving me to knit and crochet more. I'm trying to think of the order I'd like to do things now, so when the time comes, I can fall back to my MASTER PLAN. Mwuahaha. Dad's Sock Dad's sock is pretty close to finishing. Only a little more than an inch, and I can start decreasing for the toe. Hopefully finish by Tuesday. Amigurumi-Along Puppy He needs one more back leg, two ears, a tail, and a nose and some non-hand made eyes, and he's finished, so he's next on the list. The Boy Turned Girl Baby Tank/Dress Since this seems too big, my friend Steph mentioned it could easily be thought of as a dress if I sewed up the sides a bit more. That's the plan now. (Thanks to Stacey and Lisa for commenting on that one- I am going to keep it, and if I don't do the flower idea, I'm going to try the ribbon) I'm also planning on using the garter stitch that's used to create lines, to create a flower or heart on the chest. Also.... The Replacement Umbilical Hat I made and finished an umbilical cord hat in boy colors, but have bought the same yarn in a different colorway that matches the Tank/Dress. This should be a quick knit, especially since I've made it before, and also because I like the pattern. I don't know, however, if there will be a cord. I'm kind of not in love with the cord flopping around on the head. To me it's kind of weird to see a floppy umbilical cord on a kid's head, call me traditional. Citrus Moon Tank Can't. Wait. To Be. Done. It's been left along the wayside, and will be the last to be picked up, unfortunately. The Wedding Afghan Not in a rush, and it's been going smoothly so far. Ok- now for questions for you all. This winter, I want to try my hand at colorwork, and mittens. I'm looking for Fair Isle, scandenavian, those sort of intricate patterns on gloves and mittens. Suggestions for patterns/books/kits? Also- any good suggestions for worsted weight booties? Especially ones that you think would look good made with Bernat Cotton Tots? Thanks!! |
